Age Verification
Meridian requires all users to be at least 13 years old. We verify age at account creation using industry-standard identity checks.
Minimum Age Requirement
Per our Terms of Service, you must be 13 years of age or older to create a Meridian account. If you are under 13, you may not use the service under any circumstances. Accounts found to belong to users under 13 are permanently suspended.
How We Verify
During sign-up, Meridian performs two checks:
- Email gating — we require a valid email address and send a confirmation link. The email domain and associated metadata are cross-referenced against known underage patterns.
- Stripe Identity — we use Stripe's identity verification service to confirm your date of birth. You will be prompted to upload a government-issued ID or equivalent document. Stripe processes this data; Meridian receives only a pass/fail result and your verified birth year.
Data Handling
Stripe Identity is a third-party processor. Your ID document is never stored on Meridian servers. Stripe retains verification data per their own retention policy. Meridian stores only the verification outcome and your confirmed birth year for compliance auditing. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Verification Failure
If Stripe Identity cannot confirm you are 13 or older, your account creation is blocked. You may retry with a different document. Repeated failures or attempts to circumvent verification will result in a permanent ban from the platform.
Existing Accounts
Accounts created before this policy was enforced may be prompted to complete verification upon next login. Failure to verify within 30 days will result in account suspension until verification is completed.
