OKR Design Template
A repeatable framework for setting Objectives and Key Results that drive measurable outcomes across teams.
1
Define Objectives
Qualitative, inspirational goals that articulate where you want to go. Limit to 3–5 per cycle.
2
Set Key Results
Quantitative, measurable outcomes. Each Objective gets 2–5 KRs with clear numeric targets.
3
Score & Reflect
Grade each KR 0.0–1.0 at cycle end. Average 0.7 is ideal — not sandbagging, not moonshot.
Template Structure
O1Objective Title
KR1Metric: ___ → ___ by [date]
KR2Metric: ___ → ___ by [date]
KR3Metric: ___ → ___ by [date]
Pro Tips
- •KRs must be outcomes, not tasks. “Launch feature” is a task; “Increase activation by 20%” is a KR.
- •Align team OKRs to company OKRs — every KR should ladder up.
- •Review weekly. Adjust KRs mid-cycle only if the underlying assumption changed materially.
