Weekly metric review script
A structured 30-minute agenda for reviewing your key numbers every Friday. Stop guessing and start knowing.
Why this matters
Most teams review metrics reactively — when something breaks. This script turns your Friday standup into a disciplined health check that surfaces problems before they become fires.
The script
- North star (5 min) — What was our primary goal this week? Did we hit it? One sentence only.
- Revenue pulse (5 min) — MRR, new trials, churn. Compare to last week. Any anomalies?
- Product usage (5 min) — DAU/WAU, feature adoption, time-to-value. Which feature moved the needle?
- Customer signals (5 min) — Support tickets, NPS, red accounts. Any account needs a save call before Monday?
- Operations (5 min) — Deploys, incidents, latency. Did we ship clean? What broke?
- One decision (5 min) — Based on the numbers, what is the single highest-leverage action for next week? Write it down. Assign an owner.
Rules of engagement
- No laptops closed until the one decision is written.
- Data only — no anecdotes without a number attached.
- If a metric is flat, say “flat” and move on.
- Rotate the facilitator each week.
Tools you need
A dashboard (Meridian, Metabase, or a spreadsheet), a shared doc for the one decision, and a timer. That is it.
This recipe is part of the Meridian operating system. Copy it, adapt it, make it yours.
