Data Retention Policy
How Meridian stores, retains, and purges your recipe data.
Active Accounts
All recipes, meal plans, and pantry inventories are retained for the lifetime of your Meridian account. Data is stored encrypted at rest in US-East and EU-West regions, depending on your billing locality.
Inactive Accounts
Accounts with no login activity for 24 consecutive months are flagged as inactive. You will receive email notices at months 18, 21, and 23. At month 24, all recipe data is permanently purged from primary storage and backups within 30 days.
Deleted Accounts
Upon account deletion, recipe data enters a 14-day soft-delete window. During this period you may restore your account by contacting support. After 14 days, data is irreversibly purged from all systems.
Shared Recipes
Recipes shared via public links remain accessible until the originating account is deleted or the share link is revoked. Revoked links stop serving immediately; cached copies expire within 72 hours.
Backup Retention
Encrypted daily backups are retained for 30 days. Weekly snapshots are kept for 90 days. All backups are destroyed within 30 days of the source data being purged.
Data export: You may request a full export of your recipe data at any time via Account Settings. Exports are delivered as structured JSON within 48 hours.
