Recipe

Recipe: Game-day chaos practice

Deliberately inject failure into your ranked sessions so your stack learns to recover before the tournament matters.

Difficulty: IntermediateTime: 45 minStack: Any

Ingredients

  • 1 ranked alt account (or unranked smurf with MMR parity)
  • Meridian injection harness configured for your target process
  • 3–5 failure scenarios scripted ahead of time
  • OBS or equivalent replay capture running locally
  • Teammate who knows this is a chaos session

Method

  1. Script the failures. Pick scenarios: mid-game overlay crash, input lag spike, audio device loss, GPU driver timeout. Write a short trigger list.
  2. Warm up normally. Play 10 minutes of standard practice so muscle memory is engaged.
  3. Inject chaos. At an unpredictable moment, trigger one failure from your list. Do not warn your teammate.
  4. Recover without tilt. Your only goal is to return to baseline performance within 90 seconds. If you cannot, note why in the replay.
  5. Rotate and repeat. Run 3–5 injections per session. Never the same trigger twice in a row.
  6. Review the tape. Watch the replay with your teammate. Mark every recovery under 30 seconds green, 30–90 yellow, over 90 red.

Success criteria

A session passes when at least 80% of recoveries land in the green zone and zero result in a full round loss directly attributable to the injected failure. Run this recipe weekly during the off-season and twice weekly in the two weeks before a major.
