Recipe
Recipe: UI microcopy writer
Generate crisp, on-brand microcopy for buttons, empty states, error messages, and tooltips using Meridian's structured prompt chain.
Ingredients
- Context block — product name, audience, tone spec
- Surface catalog — list of UI surfaces needing copy
- Constraint set — char limits, reading level, forbidden terms
- Examples (3–5) — gold-standard microcopy pairs
Method
- 1Paste the context block and surface catalog into a new Meridian thread.
- 2Attach the constraint set and examples as pinned context.
- 3Prompt: “Generate microcopy for each surface. Output as a table: surface name, variant A, variant B, rationale.”
- 4Review output. Flag any variant exceeding char limits. Request rewrites inline.
- 5Export final table to CSV. Hand off to engineering.
Pro tip
Include one “anti-example” per surface — copy that is too verbose, jargon-heavy, or off-tone. Meridian uses contrastive examples to tighten output quality significantly.
