Pricing FAQ

Recipe Pricing Questions

Everything you need to know about how Meridian prices your recipes.

How is recipe pricing calculated?+

Pricing is derived from ingredient costs, labor time, packaging, and your configured margin. Meridian pulls real-time supplier data and applies your markup rules automatically.

Can I set different margins per recipe?+

Yes. Each recipe supports a custom margin override. Global defaults apply when no override is set, giving you granular control over profitability.

What happens when ingredient costs change?+

Meridian monitors supplier feeds continuously. When a cost shifts, affected recipes are flagged and you receive a dashboard alert with the projected price impact.

Does pricing account for waste and yield?+

Absolutely. Every ingredient has a configurable yield percentage. Trim loss, evaporation, and prep waste are factored in before the final cost per serving is computed.

Can I export pricing sheets?+

One-click CSV and PDF exports are available from the recipe detail view. Exports include line-item cost breakdowns, margin analysis, and timestamped snapshots.

Is historical pricing tracked?+

Every price change is versioned. You can review the full history of any recipe, compare snapshots, and roll back to a previous pricing configuration if needed.
