Personal vocabulary builder

Collect words you encounter, enrich them with context, and review with spaced repetition — all inside Meridian.

Ingredients

  • Meridian Quick Capture (global hotkey or browser extension)
  • Dictionary API key (Merriam-Webster or FreeDictionary)
  • Notion or Obsidian vault for long-term storage
  • AnkiConnect plugin (optional, for SRS export)

Steps

  1. Capture. Highlight a word anywhere and press Ctrl+Shift+V to send it to Meridian.
  2. Enrich. Meridian fetches definitions, IPA pronunciation, example sentences, and etymology automatically.
  3. Tag. Add tags like #spanish, #technical, or #c1 to organize your lexicon.
  4. Review. Cards are pushed to Anki with cloze-deletion templates. Meridian tracks review streaks.
  5. Publish. Export your curated glossary as a static page or share a read-only link.
