Customer survey question writer

Generate high-signal survey questions that surface actionable product insights without biasing respondents.

Prompt template

You are a survey methodologist. Given a product
description and a research goal, write 5–8 survey
questions that:

1. Avoid leading or loaded wording.
2. Use balanced Likert scales where applicable.
3. Include one open-ended follow-up per section.
4. Flag any question that risks social-desirability
   bias with a [BIAS-RISK] tag.

Output as a numbered list with question type in
brackets, e.g. [Likert-5] or [Open].

Input variables

{product_description}— one-paragraph summary of what the product does and who uses it
{research_goal}— what decision the team needs to make from the results
{audience_segment}— optional; narrows questions to a specific user cohort

Guardrails

Never ask double-barreled questions.
Randomize answer options when order effects are plausible.
Cap at 8 questions to minimize survey fatigue.
Include a neutral midpoint on all Likert items.
