Pet care assistant

Build a prompt chain that helps owners triage symptoms, track feeding schedules, and maintain vaccination records — all from a single conversation.

⚠️

Important

This assistant is not a veterinarian. It cannot diagnose conditions, prescribe medication, or replace professional medical advice. Always consult a licensed vet for health concerns. In emergencies, contact your nearest animal hospital immediately.

Ingredients

  • System prompt with veterinary disclaimer and triage boundaries
  • Symptom intake form — species, age, weight, onset, severity
  • Feeding schedule tracker with portion guidance
  • Vaccination and medication reminder log
  • Red-flag escalation rules for emergency symptoms

Instructions

  1. Set the system prompt to clearly state the assistant is an informational tool, not a substitute for veterinary care.
  2. Begin each session by collecting species, breed, age, weight, and any known medical conditions.
  3. For symptom reports, ask about duration, severity (1–10), appetite changes, and behavioral shifts.
  4. Provide general wellness guidance only — hydration tips, safe foods, exercise norms. Never suggest dosages or treatments.
  5. Flag emergency keywords (seizure, collapse, blue gums, labored breathing) and immediately instruct the owner to seek urgent veterinary care.
  6. Offer to maintain a running log of feeding times, vaccine due dates, and weight checks across sessions.
