Jan (offline AI) with Meridian remote engine

Jan is a fully offline, open-source AI client. Pair it with Meridian to unlock remote inference while keeping your data under your control.

Setup

  1. 1Open Jan and navigate to Settings → Engine.
  2. 2Select Remote OpenAI as the engine provider.
  3. 3Set the API base URL to your Meridian endpoint and paste your API key.

Security

All traffic between Jan and Meridian is encrypted in transit. Meridian never stores your prompts or completions. Your local Jan instance remains fully offline-capable — the remote engine is additive, not required.

Meridian enforces your organization's access policies on every remote inference call. Jan's local models are unaffected.
