Email Marketing Primer

Warm Your Domain

Start with 50 emails/day and ramp 2× weekly. SPF, DKIM, and DMARC are table stakes. Use a dedicated subdomain so your root domain reputation stays clean.

Never buy lists. Verify every address before the first send. Suppress hard bounces instantly and prune unengaged subscribers after 90 days of silence.

The Welcome Sequence

Your highest-open-rate email is the first one. Deliver value in email one, tell your story in email two, and make a soft ask in email three. Three emails over five days.

Measure What Matters

Open rates are noisy. Track click-through rate, conversion rate, and revenue per recipient. A/B test subject lines weekly — small wins compound into 30%+ lifts.

The Golden Rule

Every email must answer one question for the reader: “What’s in it for me?” If you can’t answer that in the subject line, don’t hit send. Respect the inbox and it will reward you.
